Disabled-angler.co.uk sources sponsorship
for future
Wayne Panting

Several months ago Wayne approached disabled-angler asking if we could possibly help him source a sponsor?

Having witnessed this up and coming young angler’s talents over the last several years we were very keen to help promote this anglers prowess.   A plan was formulated, initially putting together a portfolio of his results for the season 2005-2006; from his local clubs and open competitions he had entered.  These impressive results would then help us, by providing to prospective sponsors what a talent they would be taking on board.

We discussed with Wayne what type of sponsorship would benefit him the most. Agreeing that to progress his talents further, as with any sport he would need to spend more hours practicing.   Hence the cost of bait would be a major factor, so it was agreed that if sponsorship from a bait company could be sourced this would be the most beneficial.  It was also decided that to continue progressing his talents the bait he used would have to be the best. So no pressure there then?

Disabled-angler.co.uk has been very lucky in that we have attracted some very caring individuals to support charity events that we run up and down the country, one of those being Champion Baits.  Knowing that they produced some of the best pellets & paste available on the market, it was decided that we should approach Champion-Baits, asking as to whether they would consider the possibility of sponsoring Wayne. Having set up a meeting to look over his portfolio, it was agreed that they would keep an eye on him over several months so as to witness this young mans talents first hand.

On March 19th great news! Champion-Baits officially agreed to take Wayne on board and sponsor him with not only their bait but would also fit him out with their clothing.  He would be joining their other talented sponsored anglers who week in week out, promote Champion Baits through their winning results on numerous venues up and down the country.

Partners, Jason Grant & Ian Adamberry of Champion Baits stated that after being approached by disabled-angler.co.uk they had watched Wayne for several months and came to the same conclusion as them that Wayne was definitely a star in the making, and through our sponsorship we will help him achieve his goal of becoming a future England team member.

Wayne a paraplegic, is proof to any budding young disabled-angler out there that boundaries can be overcome.

Wayne wanted to thank disabled-angler.co.uk for their continuing support and to Champion Baits for giving him the opportunity to progress his talents further.  Disabled-angler.co.uk is not only very pleased but extremely proud to have been able to play a part in this young mans career and will continue to do so in the future
