This unique and picturesque fishery is situated in the North of Northamptonshire,  on the outskirts of a small rural village called  Yelvertoft.  The Lake is 3/4 of an acre in size, and is part of an extensive nature-reserve of some 5 acres in total.  The fishery came into fruition in 1993 and was stocked under the supervision of  what is now known as the Environment Agency.  A lot of thought and care went into the construction of this fishery, from its initial design stage through to its final conception by its present owners, Brian & Pat Faulkner.  Brian has a disability himself so disabled access was to be top of the agenda, and what a superb job they made of it.  Because the final result was a  fully accessible fishery.  You would have thought that creating great access would have been enough, but it doesn't stop there as another factor had been taken into consideration and that being safety.  Scattered around the complex are security camera's and the car park itself is easily visible from all the platforms.

Danglers Thoughts & Tips

Although only 9 pegs (10 at a push) Yelvertoft boasts a massive head of fish.  Carp run to just over 20lbThere`s a big stock of chub averaging 1 1/2-2lb - Roach with quite a few over 1lb - perch to 4lb(rumours of bigger) and a few small Tench.  There are very few rules at Yelvertoft, the main being: The use of Groundbait in feeders only - Maximum 12's Hook (Barbless only) - Keepnets are allowed but not for the retention of the larger carp.  Most baits work well here.  Meat seems best in the margins for carp.  Pellet or Hemp for the Roach - Waggler and maggot tactic works well for the chub fished between 12 - 30 inches deep

Directions
