Well the third match for the Disabled-angler.co.uk got underway at the Riddings Fishery at Grendon Nr Atherstone Warwickshire,
As weather forecast predicted I woke up 6.00am to find it was right raining and l love the rain.  It takes me exactly and hour to reach this destination and started with a hefty breakfast as anglers arrived, booked in and all paid pools etc and the draw was made.

32 anglers went off to there peg’s and erected brollies and some just stuck it out in waterproofs. one even went for a swim, I promised not to mention that to Andy Willet.

Things started very slow but then feed reached the fish and anglers started picking up Carp, Tench and Bream mostly by chucking a feeder to the island with some coming by the pole at 8 metres.

Roddy Poole a Market Harborough angler took the top weight with 80lb fishing the feeder to the island second came another Market Harborough angler Last years non-disabled champ Darren Ribbons with 50lb 08 and third was our own Dangler Alan West better known as Slider, Westie or Genus 9 by the M.Ds with 43lb Section winners by default Steve Parker BCUK 32lb, Wayne Panting 40lb Danglers Kevin Folwell Drennan 32lb and Steve Midwood Market Harborough 33lb.04.

Top five anglers who are invited to the final in September 06th 08 are Roddy Poole, Darren Ribbons, Alan West, Terrie Tapp and Steve Midwood.

We also had a pairs match consisting of a non – disabled angler with a Disabled angler and the winners picked up a bit cash plus framed certificates and were Steve Parker BCUK and Roddy Poole with a total weight of 112lb second Rod Parker BCUK and Darren Ribbons with 70lb 01 and Andy Willett BCUK and Alan West with 50lb 10 they all also received framed certificates.

The Shield was donated to this match by Brenda from the danglers and will be an annual match.
