This Attractively landscaped  reservoir, is tucked away in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.   It's purpose being the feeder reservoir for the Oxford Canal.  It quickly established itself as one of British Waterways Southern Region's most popular and interesting fisheries for match & pleasure.  It's a mixed coarse fishery,  heavily stocked with carp from 1lb 8oz to 25lbs, tench to 7lbs, chub to 3lbs, Crucian Carp to over 3lbs, perch to 2lbs, bream to 3lbs, pike to 16lbs and a large head of roach to 2lbs. In addition to the traditional green tench, British Waterways has also stocked the water with some 150-plus Golden Tench to 4lbs.

The toilet is in the car park pictured above.  It is not a designated disabled toilet.

Danglers Thoughts & Tips

Disabled-angler would recommend a  visit to Clatercote Reservoir but with a warning! - The slope down to the water is quite steep with some loose material.  Once on the walkway it is very flat but Care must still be taken, as the walk-boards & Platforms can get very slippery when wet.  Also be aware of the step down on to the Platforms from the walkway.

Concessionary Permits are available on the bank from the patrolling bailiff.  Clattercote is unusual amongst day-ticket waters in that night fishing is also allowed.

Directions

Clattercote Reservoir will be most easily reached for the majority of anglers from Junction 11 of the M40 motorway. After leaving the motorway, take the road for Banbury but well before the town take the A423 signposted to Southam on the right. About five miles on the way to Southam a road to the right is signed for the 'Bygones Museum' and Claydon. Take this and the entrance to Clattercote is about a mile down here on the right.
