Charities Championship 2007
Birch House Lakes July 14th
Winner In
action peg 18

Birch House Lakes played host to the 5th Charity match for the Disabled Angler.co.uk Charities Championship.
The nightmare of finding waters I've never visited before is a
thing of the past thanks to the TOM TOM and because of TOM, I was in plenty of time for a tasty bacon
roll from the on site cafe. If you ever visit Birch House
you'll be greeted with a friendly smile and some cheeky banter. You'll
even get a cuppa brought to your peg, and more cheek :)
As usual the Boss (Bucko) was already there with his good wife
Linda, he had his table set up and taking the money from the
competitors. Roger was collecting the £1 for the guess the
weight, funny how much we over guestimate the winners
weight. I was only 40Ibs out :)
Tommy however was a lot closer.

Draw time 09:30 saw me draw peg19. After the usual Banter of
wishing everyone good luck! No! really :) I set off to my Peg. On
arrival my plan was to fish up in the water at 13mtrs for anything
that swam, it looked good as it was just close to some lily pads,
ideal I thought. As we had been informed there was some rather
large Bream along my stretch so I opted for a shorter line, where
I put 5 large balls of ground bait full of goodies; this line I
would leave for a while to let the large Bream get their heads
down and into a feeding frenzy. Well that was the plan and
as it happened I never had a bite from the shorter line all day
and for all my efforts only manage 4Ibs 12ozs from the 13mtr line
mostly made up of chub. D. Ribbons on Peg18 was the guy
putting in all the action, don't you just love it when the winner
comes of the next peg.

so very well and also to all the competitors that took part.
After listening to comments it would seem that the prestige gained
by qualifying off one of the charity matches is growing and everyone
definitely wants to be the:

To our sponsor
BR-Electrical.co.uk thank-you again for enabling us to stage these
